Roland-Story’s boys track and field team turned in a meet to remember at the State Qualifying Meet in Ogden. Backed by 11 state-qualifying performances, school records, and multiple all-time rankings, the Norsemen surged to the team title with 111 points, outpacing strong competition across the board.

🧱 The Unsung Heroes: Points That Powered a Team Title
While state qualifiers grabbed headlines, Roland-Story’s SQM team title was built on total team effort—and several key athletes delivered in big ways to score crucial points:
400m Dash – Brody Kilstofte → 4th place, 54.92 Helped secure mid-meet momentum with a strong finish to earn 5 points.
1600m Run – Corben Lucchesi → 6th place, 4:46.88 Lucchesi doubled back after the 3200 to add valuable distance points.
Shot Put – Carson Barber → 8th place, 42-08.75 One of only two field event scorers, Barber’s effort secured an important single point in the throws.
4x400 Relay – 7th place → Closed out the meet strong, holding off scorers from other top teams to keep the team lead intact.
4x800 Relay – 8th place → A gutsy effort by Voga, Willis, Dahlsten, and Lucchesi kept the Norsemen on the board in the longest relay of the day.
These scoring performances—though not all bound for state—collectively added 20+ team points, helping Roland-Story outpace MVAOCOU by just 9 points. That’s the margin between champions and runners-up.
