Announcements - Week of April 5th

Great end to the week last week and I hope everyone had a great weekend! Here are the important things to know for this week. Please make sure you are all aware of these items.

  1. We have now entered our "Competition" training phases where we use our meets to train and improve and we use our practices to sharpen our skills. The biggest change for you is weight room work. We now go from 3 required days to 2 required days. However, you are still allowed and even encouraged to keep lifting 3 times a week. This week our 2 days will be Monday and Friday and Wednesday is the extra day. If you are in 3-4 events each varsity meet you should think about getting extra rest on that 3rd day. If you are in 1-2 events per meet it wouldn't be a bad idea to keep coming in 3 days a week until we get to the Norsemen meet at the end of the month. We will discuss this concept more tomorrow at practice.

  2. We have 3 meets this week. The meets and the concept behind who will be going is below. Again, we will discuss this more tomorrow.

    1. Tuesday - Varsity and limited JV at Gilbert

    2. Thursday - Varsity and limited JV at Nevada

    3. Friday - JV w/limited varsity guys sprinkled in at Baxter

  3. PICTURE DAY - Picture day will be Wednesday after school and looking at the weather it will be in the gym. Everyone needs their uniforms ready on Wednesday. Please plan ahead for this. Picture forms will be handed out at practice tomorrow.

We had a great week last week, culminated by winning our home COED quad. I told you our #1 goal right now is to compete to the best of our ability and by and large you guys elevated to that goal. This goal remains the same as we go through the first few weeks of phase two training. We want to compete with the knowledge that we are building to be our best selves by May. We start seeing more and different competition this week and we feel this is great timing for what we are asking you to do. Just remember we need to keep our eyes focused forward not on things we cannot control. Let's do the "Next Right Thing" starting tomorrow by getting to the weight room and having a great Monday practice.
